The Summit Challenge
Over 50 students meet on Friday the 13th to test their luck!
More than 50 students from INTERalliance chapters of 11 area high made it to Summit Country Day last Friday the 13th to take on "The Summit Challenge." This event marks the first in a series of competitive events this Spring that pit INTERalliance chapters against each other in problem-solving events, testing how well these bright students can solve a wide range of challenges.
Some events involved puzzles. Some involved trivia. Some involved constructing a solution like a functional "roller coaster" out of tubing and tape. In all cases, the events were problem-solving challenges that asked members of the INTERalliance chapter at their high school to compete against the clock and other school chapters and win points for their school's team. It's all about who's the best problem-solver, which is what Information Technology - or "IT" - is all about, as well.
The overarching messages that carried this event - and every event of the INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati - are that 1) It's cool to be smart... and 2) Cincinnati ROCKS! The INTERalliance wants students to know that, if they were ever in the market for a great career with unlimited possibilities of world travel, tough brain-teaser-type challenges, and solid employment prospects in virtually every career pathway imaginable, then a career (and first a degree) in Information Technology at any one of the Cincinnati region's amazing employers is something they need to check out.
