A Year of Wins

As I reflect on this past year, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the incredible impact we’ve achieved together at the INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati. 2025 has been a year of remarkable growth, new recognition, and expanded partnerships that have strengthened our mission to Inspire, Network, Train, Employ, and Retain the next generation of IT talent for our region.

One of the most significant milestones was being named a State of Ohio Industry Sector Partnership grant recipient as lead of the Greater Cincinnati IT Talent Development Coalition. This award is both a validation of the collaborative work already underway across Southwest Ohio and a catalyst to scale that work to reach even more students. Alongside our growing network of partners, we are aligning education and workforce needs to ensure students are prepared for the opportunities of today and the innovations of tomorrow.

We were also honored to be recognized as a finalist for the 2025 Impact 100 award. This acknowledgment highlights the importance of our work in building equitable access to technology education and investing in young talent furthest from opportunity. Being considered among such outstanding organizations was both humbling and motivating, and it affirmed that our mission resonates broadly across Greater Cincinnati.

Our partnership with We Lead CS, serving as their Work-Based Learning Coordinator for the statewide computer science career academy in Kentucky, represents another exciting step forward. By bringing our internship and career-connection expertise to a statewide platform, we are helping students across Kentucky gain the same access to meaningful, IT-connected experiences that have become a hallmark of our programs in Greater Cincinnati.

These accomplishments build on the strong foundation of our signature programs—TechOlympics, Women in IT Conference, JumpStart, School Chapters and the INTERalliance Leadership Council—which continue to grow in both reach and impact. This year, more students than ever engaged in hands-on learning, leadership development, and real-world internships in cybersecurity, data analytics, software development, and emerging technologies. With the support of our corporate, higher education, and philanthropic partners, we are ensuring that students from every background can envision themselves as future IT leaders.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are committed to building on this momentum. By deepening partnerships, expanding work-based learning opportunities, and creating new pathways into high-demand technology careers, we will continue to grow our impact and deliver on our promise: preparing students for successful careers while fueling the talent pipeline that drives our region’s economic future.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for believing in the potential of our students. Together, we are shaping the future of technology and opportunity in Greater Cincinnati and beyond.

With gratitude,

KEITH KOEHNE

Executive Director, INTERalliance

"The internship program allowed me to gain real world experience working on projects that impacted the company. I not only learned technical skills and new tools, but personal skills such as teamwork and problem-solving. I also had the opportunity to expand my network and understand how a corporate company works through multiple professionals. School Chapters

School Chapters give students a great first point of entry to INTERalliance programming. An advisor and Chapter President coordinate regular meetings and receive content packets from the INTERalliance Chapters team. They attend monthly chapter competitions to compete for prizes and compete in the Chapter Showcase at TechOlympics each February. In 2025, we had 33 active chapters across the region (a 65% increase) and celebrated Seven Hills School as our Chapter Showcase winner at TechOlympics.

TechOlympics

The largest student-run IT conference in the country, TechOlympics is a fantastic two-day event, where students are inspired to learn about emerging technologies and connect with IT professionals from some of the largest employers across the region. Students do mock interviews, network with professionals during IT&U, and hear speakers from across the diverse IT landscape. In 2025, 290 students and over 200 professionals attended this event held at the P&G global headquarters.

Women in IT Conference

WiIT is a day-long experience for girls in high school who may be interested in IT to learn from and network with women who are professionals in the field. From panel discussions and keynote speakers, to tabletop challenges with industry mentors, this is a powerful day of community building and impact. In October 2024, over 201 girls, 50 women professionals, and 32 educators attended the WIIT Conference held at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

INTERalliance Leadership Council (ILC)

As a student-run organization, ILC is how INTERalliance lives out its mission. This group of highly engaged students run all aspects of this non-profit. Led by a C-suite and Directors, the ILC manages all IT, Data, Finance, Marketing, Programs and Chapters, and reports directly to the Executive Director. It is truly the best leadership experience that a student can receive. In 2025, ILC was composed of 36 students from high schools across Greater Cincinnati and Kentucky.

INTERalliance Internships

The culminating experience in a year at INTERalliance is an internship. These 10 week paid internships with some of the top employers in the region provide students with real world learning and a meaningful glimpse into what it means to be an IT professional. Our employer partners get early access to some of the brightest and best trained talent in the region. They also get meaningful work accomplished that is a true value add. In 2025, we facilitated 192 student interns (a 27% increase) with our 42 intern partners (a 55% increase) and served as the intermediary for $493,551.89 of reimbursement to Ohio employers as part of the High School Tech Reimbursement program.

JumpStart

Started in collaboration with P&G, the JumpStart is a powerful program to prepare students furthest from opportunity for the professional expectations of an internship. Through virtual sessions, these students learn from professionals about agile development, cybersecurity, and digital marketing, as well as building your personal brand and how to give a public presentation. In 2025, we expanded the size of our JumpStart program to 93 students (a 39% increase) by adding a cohort in collaboration with We Lead CS.

IT Intern Summit

This region has a wealth of IT talent interning with local companies each summer. The IT Intern Summit brings those high school and college students together to network and learn from industry leaders. This day-long event is a highlight of the summer and a key piece is the retention of these students post-graduation. In 2025, over 227 interns and 65 volunteers attended this event held at Northern Kentucky University.

Overview of We Lead CS

Over the past year, INTERalliance has proudly partnered with We Lead CS to serve as the dedicated work-based learning coordinator for the statewide computer science career academy. Together, we connected students across Kentucky with employers from across the entire region, aligning classroom learning with professional application. This partnership supported a variety of impactful work-based learning activities, including Career Connections, employer-led Virtual Job Shadows, and technical workshops on Agile Development and GitHub. In addition, INTERalliance facilitated mock interviews, hosted the We Lead CS Leadership Council at TechOlympics, and helped launch the inaugural WLCS JumpStart cohort. By combining We Lead CS’s commitment to advancing computer science education with INTERalliance’s strong employer network and program infrastructure, we created a seamless bridge between education and the workforce, ensuring that students across the Commonwealth had access to career exploration, mentorship, and pathways into the region’s IT talent pipeline.

"I have had the distinct pleasure of partnering with INTERalliance via GE Aerospace over the last 4 years, and I could not be more in awe and proud of the outcomes and opportunities that come from that partnership. Roughly 10-13 high school interns join us for a 10-week internship every summer, looking for opportunity and an introduction to the professional world. Every opportunity is crafted to blend current business priorities with areas of Digital Technology that the incoming interns show a passion for, creating meaningful experiences and outcomes for everyone involved."
